Eddie Hsiao, PhD

Dr. Eddie Hsiao is currently CEO of an ocular laser company in Taiwan, Vision ReNu, which is now cooperating with a USA company in developing an innovative technology for presbyopia surgery treatment. He is managing the clinical study and regulatory affairs in Taiwan and China, and will market this equipment/technology in Asia. Dr. Eddie Hsiao has been working in biomedical industry for 15 years after he got his Ph.D. degree in Chemical and Biological Engineering Department of Iowa State University, USA.Dr. Hsiao expertise and experience is in development, manufacturing and marketing of medical products including biomaterial medical devices and surgical lasers. Dr. Hsiao’s research fellow in a national R&D institute of Taiwan, which aims to promote Taiwan’s biotechnology development through researching biosciences, developing technologies, building infrastructures, and bridging biotech industry with international R&D communities. Dr. Hsiao also worked in biomaterial-based medical device industry in Taiwan as VP and CEO for 8 years. Dr. Hsiao successfully developed and commercialized several Class II and class III biomaterial-based devices including bone graft substitute, dental membrane, dermal filler, wound dressing, ophthalmic viscoelastic agent, and intra-articular injection agent. Dr. Hsiao will be Managing the Local Asia Clinical Trials, Doctor Training and Asia Pacific Rim Business Development.
